Watford vs Brentford Team News:
Watford:
Cucho Hernandez will miss the match after suffering a hamstring injury in the first half of Watford’s match against Leeds last Saturday. Emmanuel Dennis is the most probable contender to take Hernandez’s spot in the starting lineup, where he would join Joao Pedro and Ismaila Sarr in the attacking third.
While Kiko Femenia, Christian Kabasele, Samir, and Hassane Kamara are all likely to remain in the back four, others such as Craig Cathcart, Francisco Sierralta, and Adam Masina will be looking to push their way into the starting XI.
Brentford:
Frank Onyeka and Josh Dasilva, both of Brentford’s midfielders, are both ruled out as they continue to heal from ankle and hamstring ailments, respectively. Pontus Jansson is questionable and will be evaluated before kickoff after being absent from last weekend’s victory against West Ham United due to sickness.
As part of a four-man defence against the Hammers, Frank selected Kristoffer Ajer at right-back, and the Norwegian might retain his place if the Bees manager opts to stay with a 4-3-3 formation. Christian Eriksen is expected to start in central midfield, where he might be joined by Christian Norgaard and Vitaly Janelt, while Toney, Mbuemo, and Yoane Wissa are all expected to make their presence in the attacking third.

The One-Liner Explainer:
Watford would have fancied their chances against a Brentford team that was struggling at the time, but the Bees now seem to be a much stronger prospect, and they will go into Saturday’s match as clear favourites. The onus is on the hosts to win all three points to enhance their chances of surviving, but we expect the visitors to continue their fine run of form with a victory in this game.
