Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings went toe-to-toe with each other in the first leg at Chepauk Stadium in Chennai. Both teams literally gave it all in the contest. However, in the end, Chennai Super Kings fell short of the target by a whisker of five runs.

Sanju Samson and Co had the last laugh in the battle as they prevailed over CSK in the first meeting this season. Meanwhile, the second leg between Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings is currently being held at Rajasthan’s den – Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur.

Talking about the game, RR captain, Sanju Samson won the toss and elected to bat first on a good batting track. The inaugural IPL champions got off to a blistering start to the game in the form of Jos Butter and Yashasvi Jaiswal.

In fact, Jos Buttler played second fiddle to Yashasvi Jaiswal as the latter scored runs for fun against CSK. In the process, the duo added 86-run stand for the opening wicket before Ravindra Jadeja dismissed Jos Buttler for 27.

Meanwhile, Rajasthan Royals’ captain Sanju Samson who came out to bat at No.3 didn’t looked completely set at the crease. He was playing a run-a-ball knock before he was dismissed by Tushar Deshpande in the first ball of the 13th over of RR’s innings.

Samson managed to hit just one boundary in his innings before he was dismissed in a disappointing manner. Yashasvi Jaiswal was the pick of the batters for the Royals as he scored 77 off 43 balls including eight fours and four sixes.
