"Won six, Lost just once in the last 7 games against CSK" - Twitter reacts after Rajasthan Royals beat Chennai Super Kings by 32 runs in IPL 2023

Rajasthan Royals have well and truly dominated the Chennai Super Kings in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League. At first, both teams locked horns with each other in the first leg at Chepauk Stadium.

The Royals managed to find a way to win the game by a whisker of five runs. As far as the second leg is concerned, the Royals got the better of Chennai Super Kings once again and completed a double over them this season.

Sanju Samson might not have contributed to the team’s scoreboard but he was spot on with his captaincy. He rotated the bowlers at the right time and hence the momentum shifted towards their favour, more often than not.

Batting first, the Royals posted a colossal total of 202/5 in their designated quota of 20 overs. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Dhruv Jurel delivered the goods with the bat ever so well. While Jaiswal scored a quickfire 77 off 43 balls including 8 fours and 4 sixes, Jurel provided enough firepower in the fag end of the overs.

He chipped in with 34 off just 15 balls where he composed three fours and two hits over the fence. In response, CSK’s opening pair – Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway got off to a slow start to the game, which didn’t help the team one bit.

In the end, CSK fell short of the target by 32 runs, which had a serious impact on their Net Run Rate. Currently, they are now third on the table with 5 wins and three defeats this season. Adam Zampa was the pick of the bowlers for RR as he registered 3/22 in 3 overs.

Chennai Super Kings’ playing XI: Ruturaj Gaikwad, Devon Conway, Ajinkya Rahane, Moeen Ali, Shivam Dube, Ravindra Jadeja, MS Dhoni (c & wk), Matheesha Pathirana, Tushar Deshpande, Maheesh Theekshana, Akash Singh
