PSG is getting ready to put Manchester United to the test by offering Marcus Rashford a massive deal
The Daily Mirror reports that PSG is reportedly working up a proposal that could pay Marcus Rashford a staggering £850,000 per week to play in Paris for them. The 25-year-old’s current deal with the club is set to expire in the summer of 2023.
For both club and country, Rashford has been on fire thanks to his revolutionary form. The young man born in Manchester has a good chance of enjoying his greatest season with the first team.
It seemed like the 2022–23 season would be his defining year, as Erik ten Hag was given the task of changing the player’s fortunes. The forward’s decision seems to have paid off, as he has contributed to 11 goals for Manchester United this season.
Discussions over a new contract have also taken place. Manchester United’s upper management will meet with his representatives to discuss a potential wage raise that would place him among the Premier League’s highest-paid players.
PSG’s interest in the English teenager is not new; the club reportedly spoke with the player’s agents last summer. The president, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, has openly expressed his respect for Rashford.
“He’s another player that is really amazing. And for free? To have Rashford for free, every club would run after him, definitely. We’re not hiding it, we spoke before and… interest. But the moment was not a good moment for both sides.”
“Maybe, summer, why not? Today if he’s a free agent of course we can talk to him directly but we are not going to talk to him now. Let him focus on the World Cup. Then after in January, hopefully, if we’re interested we will talk to him.”
The financial might of the French club has previously helped them recruit Lionel Messi and Sergio Ramos. And PSG is interested in yet another exceptional talent, offering a huge salary in order to get him to join the club. The chances of Manchester United making a counteroffer to PSG’s massive bid are slim. However, Rashford is unlikely to team up with Kylian Mbappe in his current setting unless a really unique opportunity presents itself.
