Former Indian captain Virat Kohli was recently seen in action playing the dead rubber against the Bangladesh cricket team in Chattogram. The right-handed batsman unleashed his true potential by ending his ODI century drought after 40 months.

The world-class batting material went on to smash his 44th ODI century, which was also his 72nd century in international cricket. He is currently gearing up for the Test series opener against Bangladesh which will be held on December 14, Wednesday in Chattogram.

For the record, Kohli’s last Test century came against Bangladesh back in 2019 and the run machine will be looking forward to making his presence count in the next two Tests. Moreover, it is a must-win Test series for Team India in order to keep their WTC final hopes alive.

Meanwhile, on this day, Virat Kohli became the first Asian captain to achieve a spectacular landmark. In his first Test match as skipper, he brought the best out of himself as a batsman by scoring a century in both innings of the Test match at Adelaide.

The Delhi-born chipped in with 115 runs in the first innings before going on to hit 141 in the second innings in the run chase of 364. However, Team India failed to find a way to come out on top as they lost the game by 48 runs but Kohli won the hearts of the cricket fraternity.

Since then, Kohli went on to become the most successful Test captain of the Indian cricket team. He went on to lead the Indian national cricket team in 68 matches wherein he won as many as 40 games.

Interestingly, he has been the skipper for 24 Test series, winning 18 of them and it is also worth mentioning here that he has not lost a single series at home.
