"Fair play to him, Was class at the World Cup" - Twitter reacts after Sam Curran becomes the highest-paid player in history of IPL auction

England’s young all-rounder Sam Curran became the talk of the town after he became the most expensive player in the history of the IPL auction. Sam Curran who has played for Punjab Kings and Chennai Super Kings in his IPL career attracted bids from both these teams.

However, Punjab Kings went too far to recruit the services of Sam Curran for a record price of INR 18.50 and thus the young all-rounder became the most expensive player. Ever since the inception of the IPL, the cricket fraternity has witnessed countless costliest buys at the auction.

In the previous edition of the IPL, Ishan Kishan was the second-most expensive buy in the auction after Mumbai Indians retained him for a record fee of INR 15.25 crore. For the unversed, Rajasthan Royals purchased Chris Morris for 16.25 crore from a base price of Rs 75 lakh.
