“Team India needs you” – Twitter reacts as Jasprit Bumrah set to be available for selection from New Zealand series

India’s premier fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah was out of cricketing action for a long time now owing to injury. Earlier, the Indian team missed his services for the Asia Cup 2022 as he was ruled out of the tournament with a back injury.

The right-arm paceman was coping with back spasms of late and the Indian selection committee decided to take the harsh to rest him for the T20 World Cup 2022. However, as it turned out, the death overs specialist didn’t recover in time.

Thus, it prevented him from participating in the showpiece event in Australia as well. India did miss the death-overs expertise in the marquee event. The Men in Blue qualified for the semi-finals of the competition but lost to England in the semi-finals.

Jasprit Bumrah set to be available for selection from the New Zealand series

It seems that Bumrah has been recovering pretty well and should be back in contention to help the Indian cricket team anytime soon. According to a report from Sports Tak, the right-arm pacer is set to be available for team selection from the New Zealand series.

India will be hosting Sri Lanka for three T20Is and as many ODIs from January 4 onwards. Once the assignment comes to a close, India will host New Zealand for three ODIs followed by three Twenty20 Internationals.

If the report doing the rounds are to be believed, then Bumrah will be back in action for the New Zealand series. Bumrah has represented the Indian cricket team in 30 Tests, 72 One Day Internationals and 60 Twenty20 Internationals by far.

The premier pacer has bagged 128 wickets to his name in the longest format, 121 wickets in the 50-over format and 70 wickets in the shortest format of the game. Indian team management missed his services in the last two main tournaments and they would want him to be fit and ready so that he could don the Indian outfit soon.
