Steve Smith has by far been the best batsman for Australia in the longest format of the game. In fact, he is currently the best in the business when it comes to red-ball cricket. The star batter is currently part of the third Test against South Africa, which is being played at Sydney Cricket Ground.

Earlier, the hosts took the first lead in the three-match Test series by beating the visitors by six wickets at The Gabba in Brisbane. After that, Pat Cummins and Co followed it up with yet another win in the second Test match at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Aussies won the second Test match against Proteas by an innings and 182 runs and also won the series by 2-0. Meanwhile, talking about the third Test match, Australia are in the driver’s seat against the visitors as they have scored 475/4.

Usman Khawaja was the pick of the batters for the hosts as he remained not out on 195*. Aussies are yet to declare the innings and the first three days have already ended with two more days in hand.

Steve Smith dismisses retirement rumours in an interview

Meanwhile, Australia’s best batsman, Steve Smith has responded to the rumours of him retiring from the sport. Steve Smith put those widespread speculations to an end by clarifying that he is totally enjoying the game a lot.

While speaking to Fox Sports, Steve Smith echoed that he has no plans of retiring from the sport. The right-handed batsman smashed his 30th century in Tests during the third Test against the Proteas.

He also went past Sir Don Bradman (29) in terms of most hundreds scored in Tests. He scored 104 off 191 balls before he was caught and bowled by Keshav Maharaj. Steve Smith constructed his innings with the help of eleven boundaries and two hits over the fence.
