“They themselves are confused at this point of time”, Twitter reacts as BCCI confirms Bumrah is ruled out of the ODI series vs Sri Lanka

Jasprit Bumrah

India will be taking on Sri Lanka in a three-match ODI series on their home turf starting tomorrow, i.e, 10th January. The first match will be played at the Barsapara Stadium, the second match will be played on 12th January at the Eden Gardens and the third match will be played on 15th January at the Greenfield stadium.

It is important that the Blues play as many ODI series as possible now to prepare for the upcoming 2023 ODI World Cup and this is our first step towards the same. When BCCI announced the squad for the series between India and Sri Lanka, they excluded Jasprit Bumrah from the list as he had an injury concern. However, he is all fit now and will resume playing for the national team soon. As a result, his name was recently added to the squad for this upcoming series.

However, it is now being said that even after that, the fast bowler will not be featured in the series as BCCI does not want to risk anything. This particular report comes from Cricbuzz and thus can be relied on.

Let us have a look at India’s squad for the India vs Sri Lanka series: Rohit Sharma (capt), Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul (wk), Ishan Kishan (wk), Hardik Pandya (vice-capt), Washington Sundar, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, Umran Malik, Arshdeep Singh.

Team India is the clear favorite in this series and the fans expect them to dominate the opposition to inflict a crushing defeat over them. It is also important that India play most of their upcoming series at home because, after all, the 2023 ODI World Cup will be played in India and this is hands down their best shot at an ICC trophy in a long time.
