IPL 2023: During the jersey introduction for the next Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 season, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) coach Gautam Gambhir lavished admiration on his captain KL Rahul. Only a few weeks remain till the grand event begins, and the team led by keeper-batsman Rahul will be sporting a completely new look for the next season.

During the debut of their new jersey, LSG coach Gambhir heaped praise on Rahul, calling the team “extremely blessed” to have him at the helm.

In their first year of competition in 2022, KL Rahul and company had a successful season. After finishing the league phase in third place on the points table, LSG fell in the Elimination Round against Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Rahul’s batting form as of late has been the subject of much conjecture, and his play in the next edition will certainly be analyzed from several angles. For the season opener against Delhi Capitals on Saturday, April 1, the team will want to get off to a good start with hopes of improving over the year. Also, at the mini-auction conducted in December, LSG strengthened the team by acquiring the services of Nicholas Pooran, Jaydev Unadkat, and Naveen-ul-Haq, among others.

“We are very fortunate to have someone like KL Rahul, who has a very stable and balanced head. I wish I had it; I did not have that. I was very extreme, but it did work for me. For a franchise like Lucknow, it is important to have someone like KL at the helm. Going forward, this is going to be a massive positive for us,” Gambhir told at LSG‘s jersey launch for the new season.
