Since numerous other players are poised to take their place, veteran Indian batsmen Virat Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara’s recent form in Test cricket is under the microscope, according to Brad Hogg.

But he emphasized that both Kohli and Pujara need more time to prove themselves. After the forthcoming Indian Premier League season, Brad Hogg believes that Virat Kohli would be ready to return to form after taking a little vacation.

In the current four-game Test series against Australia, Virat Kohli has failed to get going. He has had several promising beginnings, but he has been unable to turn them into substantial achievements. Averaging 22.20 runs, the former Indian captain has scored 111 total runs throughout the course of five innings.

Yet, many were pleased by Cheteshwar Pujara’s batting performance in the third Test’s second innings in Indore. On a difficult surface at the Holkar Cricket Ground, the senior batsman nevertheless managed to hit 59 runs.

What did Brad Hoggs ay about Virat Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara?

Right-handed batsman Sarfaraz Khan is on track to join India’s Test lineup, according to Brad Hogg. He has no doubt that the 25-year-old can compete at the highest level.

Hogg stressed the need of giving Suryakumar Yadav a couple more chances in the format before being replaced by Sarfaraz. If Virat Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara can’t rediscover their form quickly, the Mumbai batter, he said, might be a solid alternative.

In recent domestic matches, Sarfaraz has been in excellent form. When playing for Mumbai in the most recent Ranji Trophy season, he scored 556 runs (at an average of 92.66) in nine innings.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, he remarked: “I think Virat Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara are on watch at the moment with the talent that’s going around in Indian cricket right now. But when you look at those two experienced players, the amount of travel they’ve had and they’ve just come out of the COVID bubbles. For me, when they get a decent break after the IPL, you’ll see the best of Virat Kohli again.”
