5 players who took most catches as a substitute in an ODI innings

While there are plenty of players in a squad, only the deserving players make it to the starting XI, leaving the others on the bench. For the record, a fielding team can bring in a substitute fielder if one of their teammates picks up an injury during the passage of play.

However, one must note that the substitute players cannot be operated in specialist positions, meaning that they cannot bat or bowl. So if the substitute fielder takes a catch, then it will go down as a “caught sub” in the scorebook.
