Shea Charles Transfer News: Simon Jones of the Daily Mail reports that both Leeds and Borussia Dortmund are interested in signing Shea from the Northern Ireland national side.

Charles may be the next victim of City’s star-studded squad and the names that City are looking at ahead of the summer, with Jones reporting that Jude Bellingham, Alexis Mac Allister, and Gabri Veiga are all names that could land at the Etihad for the upcoming season.

The high concentration of talented players on City’s roster may force the 19-year-old Charles to seek playing time elsewhere. The coaching team under Pep Guardiola at Manchester City had high praise for Charles and many other young players.

Although there is a lot of quality at The Etihad, it will be difficult for the young player to get into the first squad. Charles has excelled for City’s youth teams, and in the summer he made his national team debut for Northern Ireland. Coach Ian Barraclough of Northern Ireland had nothing but high regard for the kid back then.

“I don’t want to heap massive pressure on the young kid. He’s been in the under-21s once. He probably wasn’t expecting to get his debut when we’re chasing the game,” said Barraclough.

“He didn’t look flustered, he didn’t look hurried in his decision-making. He’s smooth, a lovely player on the ball,” he added.
