Jonathan David Transfer News: Arsenal would want to acquire Jonathan David, a striker currently playing for Lille, in the offseason

Calciomercato reports that the Gunners are interested in acquiring the 23-year-old Canadian international after being pleased by his play in the French division.

Arsenal’s pursuit of a consistent goal scorer comes as no surprise. Mikel Arteta has to add more depth to his team if Arsenal is going to challenge for championships with only one established striker in Gabriel Jesus.

David would be a fantastic long-term addition for Arsenal if they decide to make a striker signing this summer. The 23-year-old has already shown his worth in France, and he may be tempted to transfer to the Premier League to further his career. The forward has scored 21 times and assisted on four more this season.

Jonathan David Transfer News: Is Jonathan David moving to Arsenal or AC Milan?

Whether or not the Gunners and the French club can agree on a price for the brilliant Canadian international is still up in the air. The Italian giants AC Milan are also on the lookout for offensive reinforcements, so Arsenal won’t have it easy.

David’s interest in making the move to the North London club this summer is still up in the air. He probably wants to play often, but that’s not something Arsenal can guarantee. On the other hand, AC Milan, who needs to find a quality long-term option for Olivier Giroud, may provide him with plenty of playing time.

While Arsenal did not end up winning the league championship, they did qualify for next season’s Champions League. They may give AC Milan a run for their money in the transfer market. Both the player and the selling club will likely find the Gunners to be the more appealing alternative.
