“He was clearly out yesterday and there shouldn’t be any doubt” – Twitter reacts as Sanju Samson’s gloves were not close to the stumps during Rohit Sharma’s dismissal

The 42nd game between Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals was a high-scoring run-fest as both teams cashed in on the chances to better effect during the passage of play. Batting first, Rajasthan Royals scored 212 for the loss of seven wickets in their quota of 20 overs.

Yashasvi Jaiswal was the pick of the batters for Rajasthan Royals. He took the bowling attack to the cleaners and went on to score his maiden IPL ton. He scored 124 off 62 deliveries including a flurry of 16 fours and 8 hits over the fence at a staggering strike rate of 200.

In response, Mumbai Indians gave it all in the run-chase and won the game by 4 wickets with three balls to spare. Tim David scored 45 off 14 whereas Suryakumar Yadav scored 55 off 29 balls including 8 fours and 2 sixes. Cameron Green scored 44 off 26 balls including 4 fours and 2 sixes.

Sanju Samson’s gloves were not close to the stumps during Rohit Sharma’s dismissal

During Mumbai Indians’ innings, skipper Rohit Sharma was expected to dominate the proceedings on his birthday. However, he failed to bring the best out of himself on the match day as he was bowled by Sandeep Sharma for 3 runs.

However, his mode of dismissal confused most of the fans of the cricket fraternity. Many opined that Sanju Samson’s gloves touched one of the bails in the first place and a replay also almost gave us a head ache whether Rohit Sharma is out or not out.

However, upon viewing the mode of dismissal from an entirely different angle, it clearly depicted that Sanju Samson’s gloves were not close to the stumps during Rohit Sharma’s dismissal.

Meanwhile, it was a special win for Mumbai Indians as this is the first time that they have chased down a target of 200+ at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Rohit Sharma and Co will take on Punjab Kings on May 3 in Mohali.
