“Chad BCCI” – Twitter reacts as Sri Lanka and Bangladesh boards have backed the BCCI and supported the decision of moving the 2023 Asia Cup out of Pakistan

Team India are the most successful team in the history of the Asia Cup tournament. The Men in Blue have won a record seven titles in their history. Sri Lankan cricket team are the second-most successful team in the tournament with six titles.

The Sri Lankan cricket team defeated Pakistan cricket team in the finals of the 2022 Asia Cup and won their sixth title. On the other hand, Bangladesh cricket team are yet to win a title in the competition.

The 2023 Asia Cup tournament is slated to be held in the September window. Earlier, Pakistan acquired the hosting rights for the Asia Cup competition but there are doubts surrounding whether the tournament will be held in Pakistan.

Earlier, the Board of Control for Cricket in India made it very clear that they are not willing to send the players to Pakistan for the Asia Cup tournament. They wanted the tournament to be shifted out of Pakistan and such that it can be held at a neutral venue.

Meanwhile, as reported by Geo News, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh boards have backed the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and supported the decision of moving the 2023 Asia Cup out of Pakistan.

If reports doing the rounds are to be believed, then Sri Lanka and Bangladesh are ready to host the Asia Cup 2023 tournament if the opportunity arises. BCCI have no issues if the Asia Cup 2023 tournament is held at a neutral venue.

BCCI is considered the richest cricket board in the world and it makes a significant revenue through various areas such as lucrative sponsorships, media rights, advertising deals, ticket sales, and merchandise. Besides that, they also own and control the Indian Premier League, the most-watched T20 league in the world. BCCI makes a staggering revenue through IPL as well.
