Harry Tector goes past Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma in ICC ODI Rankings

In this competitive era, the players who consistently keep building their profile are considered the most valuable assets to the team. The ones who don’t have been shown the exit door and that has been the case if you are playing in international cricket.

When it comes to One-Day Internationals, it is important for a batsman or bowler to keep up their good form going forward. Based on their performances, they are positioned in the latest International Cricket Council Rankings.

Meanwhile, Ireland’s Harry Tector etched his name into record books after he went past the likes of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma in the latest ICC ODI rankings, which is quite a remarkable achievement.

How did Harry Tector surpass both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma in ICC ODI Rankings?

Harry Tector switched gears and amassed 206 runs against Bangladesh in the recently-held ODI series. The talented prospect scored a brilliant century in the second ODI of the series which came in a losing case.

However, he has been in terrific form with the bat, maintaining an average of 53 including 4 centuries in the 30 ODI innings he has played. While Kohli and Rohit are busy playing for their respective IPL teams, Harry Tector dethroned the duo in the rankings.

Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma who were sitting in the 7th and 9th positions in the ICC rankings have been demoted to the 8th and 10th places respectively. Despite the fact that Kohli has hit 4 centuries in ODIs recently, he is having only 719 points in the rankings.

On the other side of the coin, Ireland’s talented prospect Harry Tector currently has 722 rating points. Harry Tector is at the seventh spot in the latest ODI rankings and perhaps the best of him is yet to come.
