Gujarat Titans, the defending champions are playing against the four-time IPL champions, Chennai Super Kings in the IPL 2023 opener. The game is currently taking place at the world’s largest cricket stadium – Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Sai Sudharsan made the headlines after he replaced the injured Kane Williamson in the tournament opener. During the game, Kane Williamson made a brilliant effort near the boundary rope in an attempt to prevent the ball from going for a six.

As it turned out, he managed to save two crucial runs for the team. However, he ended up injuring his leg in the follow-through, which turned out to be a massive blow for Gujarat Titans.

Gujarat Titans’ team management was very well aware that Kane Williamson couldn’t continue any longer in the game and the extent of the injury is known yet. Meanwhile, the Ahmedabad-based franchise decided to name Sai Sudharsan as the impact player.

Sai Sudharsan replaced Williamson as an impact for Gujarat Titans. Ever since he came out to bat, the left-handed batter got off the mark with a superb boundary. Gujarat Titans acquired the services of Sai Sudharson for his base price of INR 20 lakh.

Ever since he came out to bat against CSK, he looked in confident touch with the bat. At the time of writing this article, he scored 22 off 15 balls with the help of three boundaries.
