ISL 2022/23: Gouramangi Singh, a Former India Player, Will Be an Assistant Coach for FC GOA

ISL 2022/23: In preparation for the 2022 season of the Indian Super League (ISL), former India international Gouramangi Singh has accepted a position as an assistant coach with the FC Goa club.

Gouramangi began his football career at the Tata Football Academy and went on to play for many of the most prestigious clubs in the nation during the course of a career that spanned 15 years.

During the 2004–2005 season, Gourmangi won both the National Football League (NFL) and the Federation Cup with Dempo SC. The next year, he accomplished the same thing once again, this time with Mahindra United.

The center defender played for Churchill Brothers from 2007 to 2012, during which time the club he was a part of won an I-League title (in 2008-09), two IFA Shields (in 2009 and 2011), and two Durand Cups (2009 and 2011).

The award for the best men’s player in the AIFF’s competition was given to the football player from Manipur in the year 2010. It wasn’t until four years later that he made his debut in the Indian Super League with Chennaiyin FC. Over the course of his career with the Blue Tigers, he has racked up well over 70 appearances.

In 2018, Gouramangi decided to devote his whole attention to the field of coaching. The 36-year-old now has an AIFF A License and has done work as an assistant coach with Bengaluru United over the course of the previous three seasons. He received his license in 2019.

According to a statement that was included in a press release, Gouramangi was reported as stating that “knowing the club and the level of their game, it’s a major step in the correct direction as far as my coaching career is concerned.”
